Anger
The Bible treats anger not as a forbidden emotion, but as a powerful force that requires a gentle hand and a watchful heart. It acknowledges that while we will feel the heat of provocation, we are called to handle it with a quiet strength that prevents a moment of frustration from becoming a lifetime of regret.

The Nature of Slow Anger
The scriptures frequently describe a "slow to anger" temperament as a reflection of the Divine. Rather than reacting with immediate intensity, we are encouraged to create space between our feelings and our actions. This pause allows wisdom to override impulse.

Proverbs 14:29 – "Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly."

James 1:19 – "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger."

Restraint and Resolution
There is a practical grace in the biblical advice to "not let the sun go down on your anger." This isn't just about a clock; it’s a call to prevent bitterness from taking root overnight. By resolving conflict quickly and choosing a soft response over a harsh one, we protect our inner peace and our relationships.

Ephesians 4:26 – "Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger."

Proverbs 15:1 – "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

Finding Peace in Letting Go
Ultimately, the Bible suggests that the antidote to anger is trust. When we release the need to retaliate or control a situation, we hand that burden over to a higher justice. Letting go of "clamor and slander" frees the soul to experience the quietness and rest it was designed for.

Psalm 37:8 – "Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil."

Ephesians 4:31 – "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice."

A Gentle Reminder:
Anger is often a storm that passes through, but you are the steady ground beneath it. By breathing through the heat and choosing kindness, you invite a lasting calm into your life.
